Eli is so serious about the delivery of elephant! Your “hostiles” are getting really big! They were a good scavenge. All looks well. Love to the biggies and yourself and of course, Dave. C.

Eli takes his gift deliveries extremely seriously. Yesterday he greeted me with a towel.

Orange Dreamsicle frozen custard. Oh, how I wish we had a frozen custard source close by. Eli, you are so huggable. Hello Auggie. Enjoy a relaxing weekend.

Poor baby Eli … thank goodness dad was there to lay on. ❤️

Poor baby! Years ago when we had our Irish Setter, she almost had a nervous breakdown when our next door neighbor replaced his roof. Your hostas and allium look fabulous. Can’t wait to hear about the 1.4 tons of books! Does it involve Christmas Tree Julie?? And you completely had me at champagne and dreamsicle custard!

Life can be so scary for such a tender Eli soul. His absolute adoration of his Mom and Dad carry him through it all.

It’s been a good May here. The only thing I dread is a blistering hot and humid summer, which is on the menu. They get hotter and hotter each year. I have friends who just revel in it. Not so much here. June already showing above average temps. So hard on our pets too. Then there’s July and August. 🙄🥵

I’m not a fan of heat, so those are the floating days.

Finished North of the Tension Line last week. Good story that I’m passing on to friends and family. Now I’ll begin the Audacity of Goats, back to visit old friends. Thinking these books could be the basis of a nice TV series.

Welcome home! My husband also returned yesterday from a week long trip and we are all so pleased he’s home, him most of all!

Home is always the best place ♥️

We had three lunch outings this week, all with comfortable friends and zero pressure. Today I feel like I've climbed Mt Kilimanjaro. Solo, with no useful equipment other than the baby grand piano strapped to my back. Lord, I am old.

(Sighs)…sometimes, there are no words. I want you to know that I feel every bit of what you have said. 🐾❤️

Lovely photo of your woods. I am wondering if you are a Louise Penny reader. She references Julian of Norwich's quote in many if her novels. Some days I cling to the idea that all will be well.

Just got back from putting out the sprinkler to water my wife's new three year old garden out front. Will do the west side garden later this morning.

We lost our sugar maple tree on the west side of the house to our street construction project. We planted it 15 years ago too close to where the water and sewer enter the house and they had to take it down. My wife had planted shady plants on the west side because it was shaded by that tree but not any more. She is trying to come up with a plan to move forward as we will be treeless on that side until this fall at the earliest when it gets replaced I am sure by a sapling by the city.

Also thanks to the street project, we are now connected to city water via our rear garden hose connection for the foreseeable future. So watering the back yard will be a bit complicated.

Hopefully all of this will be resolved in about six weeks when they finish the side street. Since we have a corner lot, we get torn up again in late August in the front yard for six weeks.

It will be a "fun" summer of construction.

Here's to a quiet uneventful summer for both of us.

(So glad the books are safe.)
