Your weather this summer has been very scary. I’m the one who is supposed to get tornados and scary weather and although it gets pretty hot by 3 in the afternoon, our weather here way down South in Dixie has been remarkably pleasant. It’s a world gone crazy. Watching France and Spain burn is terrifying. It’s as if we’re suffering a blip in our collective lives. Everything is upside down. Stay safe and enjoy the Windy City. I was concerned for you when I saw how Wisconsin was being shaken like a rag doll by Mother Nature. So glad you are all safe and sound. I truly feel for the visitors, whose home country is on fire in more ways than one. Climate change is nothing to sneeze at and yet our current administration……. Don’t get me started. It is raining hard here, the horses are soaked but won't stay in the barn other than to eat because they don't like the rain on the metal roof. Mother nature is just as unsettled as the politics these days...she warned us not to screw with her. Having spent a lot of time in Normany and Brittany my heart is breaking over the fires. Hope their home is safe!
I grew up in Menasha. I know every neighborhood like the back of my hand. It’s heartbreaking to see it turned into a field of debris, overturned cars, downed trees, snapped utility poles, leveled homes and businesses.
We've been up here in SW WI over 10 years now and there's definately a weather change. I remark to others "It's so windy anymore", they always agree. And the sun...I don't recall it's being so intense, not even further south.
Anyway, have fun in Chicago and if you have the chance, check out Montrose Beach, have a drink and snack at their concession stand and enjoy the skyline!
Monday afternoon was certainly horrific. Smart move going back to the "big house" to wait it out. I keep saying that Mother Earth is not at all happy. When I was a child and growing up, storms that we see now never seemed part of the equation. Tomorrow will be a good day to head on into Chicago as rain is in the forecast for Friday. Noooo! Stay safe.
I was wondering if you were involved in the tornadoes or close to them? They were very bad. We had terrible thunderstorms in North Georgia last night. Some damage in the mountains towns. I am glad all is well at your house, except for the mouse. I have always heard where there is one mouse, there is more. Sorry the dogs can't go in the lake. Take care and enjoy Chicago.
Wow! Changing weather is going to be with us - with some more than others. The lake looked so peaceful but there is a true danger for peeps in that area. Sad that so few listened when it was first known that climate change was a probability. Eli is so regal!

Mother nature is unpredictable and beautiful and definitely in control. I don’t understand the denialism related to climate change.
