Gorgeous blooms. And the dogs look so happy. Saturdays are for pottering around and doing what pleases us — at least that is my attitude today. I’ve watered plants, deadheaded the petunias and geraniums, put some shade over the hydrangeas so they don’t burn, let the dogs wander about, made a pot of iced tea and drinking it now whilst about to pick up my book again and read that. So glad I stopped to read this first!
The lengthening days in December bring hope to everyone — how many faiths or practices have celebrations around December 25, when it’s clear that the sun is coming back? It’s such a wonderful acknowledgment by humans throughout all history (look at the design of Stonehenge, as one among many) that we the sun is life-giving, hope-giving, and a source of joy!
I love seeing Augie with his green ball! He makes me smile as I see him and I know that later today and perhaps moving into days ahead I'll pull up the memory of him with his green balls. It's wonderful for me to love your dogs from afar.
Having an overload of chores, tasks never ever goes away. I feel the pressure all the time. I thought it would ease with age? No! Because you’re living a slow-motion life now these tasks are waaay overdue. Whatever. I try not to dwell on it too much, just one day at time.
Today the weather and birds here are exactly as you described - so invigorating!! So happy to inhale this perfection - and DO things.
These pictures really show off the lushness of early summer. So beautiful. You really cultivated your forest to picture perfect status. Thank you for the visuals. 🌳🌸🌿🌸🌲🐕
And, on top of all that I must do, I still have to let one of my subscribers, Katie B, know where she can purchase the entire series of North of the Tension Line books?!?! 😅🥰 Love the flowers 💐 And the dogs too 🐶❣
It’s already stupid hot in Central Texas but we have been blessed with recurring thunderstorms spaced out over the last 10 days, so everything is getting a good drink from Mother Nature before it gets to be Africa hot. Unfortunately that has also brought out the hoards of mosquitoes that will plague me until late November. Your property looks so green and cool. I’m jealous! And I love seeing Auggie with his green ball.
Thanks

Single peonies have a delight all their own.
And I got my first mosquito bite of the season last evening, gah.
You’re falling behind. 😎
Thank you for your peaceful reflections. Two more days of lengthening sunlight hours, and then we begin the cycle again....
I had a friend who would remind me that on December 21, the days start getting longer. Always a positive.

Felt like I was there, wonderful describes 👌🏻Your words & pictures felt so calming for me. 🫶🏽
Can't the smell of cut hay take you back. I've been meaning to ask. How is the bridge coming?
No bridge yet!
Oh, your peonies! ❤️💐
Sounds like a happy, healthy weekend. Enjoy it! Love to those biggies, young and old. C.
We’re enjoying the same spectacular yet unseasonably cool weather. Long may it stay!
Amen to THAT!!

I got them on Amazon a couple weeks ago. That is, if you're not boycotting Bezos.
My books are temporarily out of print. They may be purchased used for now.
