The painting is simply beautiful. I love the grandeur of its size and the mystery the scene evokes. When you name the artist I will look up her other works. Most all the art I own is from people I know. It makes the art so special.
Art is so, in the eye of the beholder. One painting absolutely captures a person, while the person next to him, loves the tiny crow? It’s a wonderment. A totally “different strokes for differing folks”. Love to the biggies. C.
Sometimes a piece of art will just grab hold of you. I had seen pictures of a painting by Jackson Pollock for years and thought “what a mess”. Then I happened to see the real thing in a traveling MOMA exhibit and I was enthralled. Your painting is beautiful. Hope we get to see pictures of the finished china cabinet. And the new Charlie portrait. Stay inside away from the smoke. Happy anniversary.
The painting and its location are beyond stunning. Absolutely beautiful. But, I think what I like most about it is that your husband chose it. It meant something very special to him and, and turn, now means something very special to you. I think he will enjoy that feeling of giving your home, something so beautiful, for the rest of his days. And you can’t put a price on that. Enjoy your very special evening with your husband, and your family, and your beautiful paintings. And, last, but not least, the very happiest of Anniversary’s.
No one here knows Charlie like you do, so when he fell in love with a painting he felt he had to have, you must believe that the figure in the painting is a reflection of you. And that’s why he liked it, loved it so much. You can step into her shoes and reign over your lakeside kingdom.
The painting in the dining room is not only breathtaking but I love the way you’ve crafted the cabinetry around it. It’s WOW! I am really looking forward to seeing the portrait when you release a photo of it - I am so glad you have the whole family there. I am hoping that the fires come under control and the smoke starts to become less of an issue by you and across the north of the Midwest — and I so agree with you, why can’t people plant more trees!! I shudder when I see new subdivisions with lots of cookie cutter houses and no trees at all.
I love the shot of Auggie giving you that "WHAT????" look. 😉😂🤣🤣
A few years ago my wife wanted to take down the cabinets above our kitchen peninsula so she didn't have to watch the TV with her neck crooked. That resulted in a completely new kitchen with walls moved and new flooring.
Happy Anniversary! The painting is mythic. If this continues, you are going to need a gallery. Stay nestled under the big trees till the weather changes.

OK, so now I'm picturing you as Maria in The Sound of Music:
"Nothing comes from nothing,
Nothing ever could.
So, somewhere in my youth or childhood
I must have done something good.
For here you are standing there loving me
Whether or not you should.
So, somewhere in my youth or childhood
I must have done something good."
One of my favorites!
Kismet, for certain!

It is beautiful! You created a lovely space for it. And I am glad you have a cozy home, with protective trees. Happy Anniversary!
A beautiful painting in the perfect spot!

That’s how it goes.

Wow, the painting is gorgeous and deserved a DR remodel! Have a wonderful evening and reveal!
