This clip, that of course I read long ago, started my day with a smile, and wanting more. Maybe I'll pull out your books and read them again. Thanks.....and don't give up on the novels!
A wonderful look into life on Washington Island. Parts are reminiscent of my early teen years growing up in Hayward, Wisconsin before the advent of snowmobiles and the Birkebeiner when it was just a summer season town. I vividly remember encountering at least one tourist who was aghast that we actually had indoor plumbing and that the Native Americans who lived on a nearby reservation did not ride their horses into town to get supplies. Your female protagonist and her husband would have quickly departed when they learned the only option for an elegant dining would have been at The Ranch which served largely comfort food with cows and horses grazing in nearby corrals.
Fell in love with the series after reading the first few pages (excerpt). Fiona describing her morning and her careful descent of the steps to the village. I knew I'd connect with Fiona. Grace was never my middle name either! I have a T-shirt my sister gave me. It says, "I do all my own stunts."
I grew to love each of the characters and couldn't wait to read the next book. Great series!!
As many others have said, after reading this excerpt from North of the Tension Line, I know that my salve while waiting for Throwing Bears for George will be to re-read your entire series. I’m uncertain how or where I learned about you, BookBub maybe? The blurb I read mentioned Ephriam WI, where my husband and I have returned year after year, mostly to The Village Green Lodge. He spent his boyhood summers in Door County and seemed to know it like the back of his hand. He even knew about The Rocks! So of course we took the ferry to Washington Island and it gave me pure joy to see how perfectly you describe everything about the Island.
I so loved these books! I gobbled them up like candy, and then started over again, and savored each sentence. Will probably do the same again when the new one comes out. And may have to re-visit sooner, now that you gave another taste…
I know I’ve mentioned this before, but I am going to reread all four books in the series to prepare me for “Throwing Bears for George”. And, reading this excerpt again, just now, increases my excitement to begin. May have to start sooner than I expected.😉 Love and kisses to Big Boo.😘
Will Fiona ever grow up? Will Roger come to embrace his inner barrister? Will Rocco get a walk? Keep reading to find out!
Eli, Your BIG friendly snuggle wolf! 😊🐾
Better known as Big Boo.
😊
Eli, please know how much we love you. Auggie too! I want to have coffee with Rocco and his pals. I so enjoy your books.

I think I’ll read it again❤️
I may have to visit Washington island and see these folks (in my mind’s eye).

Oh, I don’t think Fiona would have scorned a local restaurant. She’s much more adaptable than that.

Oh, Eli! ❤️❤️❤️ You make me wish for my own Eli body pillow.
What an idea!
