Perhaps we all need to calm down. I know I do.
It’s a spectacular fall day. I am taking a day off from the novel to tend to my well-being, and we plan to join a self-guided walkabout to local art studios, scattered among at least three communities. The dogs, who do not appreciate art unless it’s edible, will stay at home, but only after they’ve gone for a ride in the car, had sausage biscuits with egg (making the most incredible mess in the backseat thereby), and romped in the woods with balls.
I have been relaxing by planning a trip to Paris in the spring. My friend and I have booked our flights and hotel, and are debating whether we know Paris well enough to plan a day trip or two. There are so many delightful tiny museums and cafes that it’s hard to imagine the need to go anywhere else. In preparation I remind myself of my French with podcasts. It’s all there in a file drawer somewhere, and I’d rather crack it open before we arrive.
My husband is outside with the dogs in the breezy sunshine, and they are delighted after hours of my shushing and ignoring them. Their patience with writing is purely an act of love rather than enjoyment. I can look down the hill and see them romping, and it makes me happy.
Fall is coming late this year. The trees are just beginning to turn, and the sunlight is saturated by them. Only in the last few days have we begun to hear the joyous cacophony of migrating geese.
Wishing you all a calm and beautiful Saturday.

You know what? Today, I am going to take a deep breath and shut my phone OFF!!! Thank you Janet for reminding me of the glorious fall day outside here in central NY, waiting for me to enjoy. 😊
Wishing you and yours a wonderful day. Breezy here and very fall like.
