Crème Brûlée and a creamy flan are wonderful. Homemade Tiramisu too.

WHY would you resist something that gives you that much joy? As a fellow creamsicle, dreamsicle, humorette lover I make it a matter of principle to seize the pleasure at whatever moment, in whatever form it appears.

Unfortunately, I can’t share custard with Eli because he is allergic to cows’ milk. He gets goat yogurt most mornings though.

This summer here has been a hot one so far. I've managed to purchase all of the half gallon containers of Walnut frozen yogurt at all of the nearest grocery stores. I'll soon be trying to get "Mr. Chapman" (Canadian people/company) on the phone and make a direct bulk order! 😁 🍨

You sing the song of my people. I have four words for you: Kohr’s Orange Vanilla Twist. I save room in my calorie budget one day a week all summer long to fit one in.

I’m ready to dive into vanilla ice cream. It’s 9:54 am! Also have a Trader Joe’s small vanilla sheet cake in the refrigerator. Off to the store for creamsicles. Thank you for this delicious Monday morning essay. Hugs for Eli and Auggie.

Have you ever tried chocolate from England or Belgium? Not the pablum produced by American factories that vaguely resembles chocolate in color. I wonder if our local Culver's has creamsicle custard?

Of course. I am unmoved by it.

And no, Culver’s does not have creamsicle.

If they did, it probably would have god-awful chocolate chips in it!

It is just so American to add chocolate chips to everything possible. ;) There are many flavors of Culver's custards that I like, however.

A gallon of creamsicle as a gift? That is so generous. I would have to clean out my freezer to handle that. 😉

Chocolate is so-so. People think it is Nirvana - to long life, good health, with wine, emotional lifts, friendship. Well, not so for everyone. Give me a lemon 🍋 meringue pie any day - for breakfast, lunch or dinner. I’m a happy girl! Citrus rules here.

For baking try Fiori di Sicilia - a combination of citrus 🍊🍋 and vanilla, a real flavor enhancer. But there is another flavor combo I love (first experienced in a NY style cheesecake) - I call it the trifecta - vanilla•lemon•almond. I blend my own for pound cake, cheesecakes. People can’t quite put their fingering on the wonderful flavor. Delicious!

We were out of root beer and I had already filled my glass with ice cream (vanilla). I substituted orange juice and… I can say I’m with you totally. I tried using orange crush when the juice was scarce but the acid in the juice formed this delectable crusting coating on the ice cream.

Years later I was asked why I kept an emergency frozen concentrate in my freezer. I just smiled.

I don’t remember the last time I had a creamsicle! I used to love them as a kid. Now I want custard.

My dad loved store bought creamsicles but I preferred the chocolate dipped ice cream bars.

I too LOVE vanilla and citrus and these custard bars sound incredible😊

It’s a good thing we don’t live closer. My husband would pitch a tent in the parking lot for the summer. He simply can’t resist orange creamsicle!

A good vanilla can be transformative…..living so close to Mexico as I do, their variety is my favorite. A good vanilla ice cream has the same magical qualities. Sadly, no real custard in AZ…😭

Custard has not been available where I live; but, I grew up eating and loving orange/vanilla popsicles. Yum.

Vanilla is my most favorite ice cream and cake. Heaven.

I am so there with you regarding orange Creamsicle!! I absolutely love it and I'm so jealous you can have it as a custard! Next time the stand is offering orange Creamsicle, get it. Don't think twice. We only live once. Besides, since one of your readers said it was OK to have it, there are NO CALORIES because I said so! Enjoy!
