Agree, we must put out the lights to protect our migratory friends. We were treated to a flock of cedar waxwings (hundreds) one year while they were passing through.
I’m so happy for Gus and his new family…what a relief! I wonder how on earth he was lost and alone in the woods and for how long? And still a baby! 🥺 My grandmother whose parents or grandparents ( I’m trying to learn more about her ancestry) were Irish immigrants would say “all’s well that ends well”. 🙏🏻😅
Most businesses try to reduce lights but not all. I was surprised that it was only one. I suppose it could have been a daylight collision as it tried to evade the hawks that are denizens of our high rises.
What wonderful news for Gus! Thank you for the update and I wish him and his new family a wonderful life together.
I am so excited for the migrating birds to return. We saw our first hummingbird last week. He zoomed by the spot where our feeder normally is so we had to scramble to get it filled and put out. We live close to a state park and hiking through there in early May is a birder’s delight.
Thank you so much for the update on Gus. He’s such a handsome boy! Thanks to his new family for loving him. I also love reading updates on the limping turkey. Have a fabulous day!
Lucky puppy! A happy and safe life awaits Gus, thanks to all of you.
So great to hear about Gus! Helpful Bird info as well, you have it all this morning.
Soooo very happy for Gus, it looks as though he hit the puppy lottery!
Gus is lucky. We need to help the birds as much as possible
Beautiful baby Gus 😻 and also sleeping Auggie ♥️
Great news for Gus and his new family.
Happy ending 😊.

"Auggie, Shouldn't you be on duty instead of napping?"
"I'm on my break. It's a Union benefit. I'm in the International Tail Waggers." 😁😊🐾💤
Say the right word and he’ll be off like a shot.
⚡️😊🐾
Yeah for Gus!! 😊🐾
WELCOME HOME GUS ❤ Thank you so much for the update Janet! This is so heartwarming, I could burst!!!🤗❤
Love the news about Gus!
And yes, lights out! On Wednesday I saw a black and white warbler that didn’t make it through downtown Dallas.
That’s sad.

So wonderful about young Gus ❤️❤️❤️
I'd call that picture of Auggie: "Handsome sleeping wolf." 😊💤🐾
I've always thought Auggie's tail was wolf-like. And Gus definitely looks part-wolf to me -- his hair looks a little stiffer. His colors are gorgeous.
Auggie sleeping is a meditation for me. Several deep breaths and I'm good to go!
I am happy to read about the good new home for Gus.
Gus did win the lottery. He found the best house to hide behind.
